Protect the children in Park Slope
I often find that when crossing my children, a group of anywhere from 5-30 kids ages 5-12, whether in the streets or in the park, bicyclists refuse to yield, especially the professional ones. They don't always stop at red lights or for crossing guards, and sometimes try to ride THROUGH my group. What can be done to stop this behavior?
Hey Maskedmallard537: Thanks for reaching out. The great thing about Biking Rules is that we have a ton of Commuter Handbooks to give out for free to NYC cyclists, thanks to our generous sponsors. It is going to take some work to get the Biking Rules Street Code to catch on and we could use your help! If you would like to pass out Biking Rules materials in your neighborhood, request some online or stop by our office. If you would like for Transportation Alternatives to collaborate with a community group in your neighborhood to do Biking Rules outreach in problem locations, please send an email to bike@transalt.org to begin that discussion. |
