Biking Rules en Español

Biking Rules handbooks have now been translated to Spanish! Civic cycling is contagious, and now the message can be read by an even more diverse array of NYC cyclists. Look out for a Chinese version of the handbook, coming soon!

Cyclist, I Saw You

Have a special cyclist that you've noticed on your commute? How about one that truly embodies the spirit of Biking Rules?  Tweet it to us and we'll publish it here!

It's kind of like Craigslist's Missed Connections, only less creepy. And especially for folks who know that biking rules!

Announcing the Launch of the Bike Friendly Business Campaign!

Transportation Alternatives is excited to launch the Bike Friendly Business Campaign. The campaign is part of the Biking Rules education and encouragement campaign and is a great way to demonstrate your business' commitment to going green. It will serve as a way to attract cyclists and pro-cycling customer--a group that has grown by over 66% in NYC over the past three years.

T.A. will work with two categories of Bike Friendly Businesses. If your restaurant employs working cyclists, you can become a Bike Friendly Business by having these employees sign on to the Streetcode--a commitment to uphold safe, legal cycling behavior on NYC streets. Alternately, you can also qualify by giving a small discount to customers who arrive by bicycle as a gesture of your support for bicycling in NYC.

Due to inclement weather on our scheduled date, and the potential game schedule at Yankee Stadium, the 2009 Tour de Bronx has been canceled.

We deeply regret that this year's ride will not take place; we have
been unable to reschedule all the road closures and park arrangements
necessary to make this tour possible.

We are already beginning planning for next year's ride, and hope
that you will be able to join us then for an overdue ride across our
favorite borough!

With deep regrets,

The Tour de Bronx Team

P.S. If you are interested in riding the 2010 tour, you will need to re-register next year.
